Rachel…

Introducing to the new line…Rachel!  I designed Rachel, because I love big bags, I often say, ” I’m a bag lady.”  I like them big, to make a bold statement.  So I designed a more hobo inspired bag with lots of leather detailing and lots of attitude.  Rachel has one handle for easy lifting and the gold rings for hardware.  She has plenty of room because she has a leather gusset that is 4 inches wide.  Rachel is my new favorite style, combining size, ease, and detail.  And she is already popular with sales already happening, which reinforces she is a keeper!  I even kept the first one and didn’t even put it up for sale, I had to have her to show off quickly!  As for the name?  Rachel is my twin sister’s friend who teaches with her. She is atheletic, a risk-taker and larger than life, so I knew I needed a bag after her and this one fit the bill.

Shakopee Weekend…

I am just very excitedto road trip this weekend with my twin sister, Sarah, to the Spring Festival in Shakopee MN on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  We always have a good time together and I love selling the new styles and fabrics for spring. Plus, Sarah and I have so much fun just dressing up and looking springy ;) If you are in the area, please stop and see us!  We will have also have at least 5 of the “Olive Dress” with us to buy as well.  If you need directions or times they are open for the festival, please email me and I will get that information to you quickly!  Hope to see you there!

I got a phone call on Sunday that will be a first for Rebekah Scott Designs.  I sold a Pretty Megan to a gal in Watertown SD, Jodi Loehrer, and she decided after she got it, she really did want a button closure instead of one with a zipper.  So I told her, no worries, just send it back to me and I will sew one with a button closure instead.  Well, she went to mail it back at the post office and the post-woman wanted to see it first.  Jodi mentioned she had it all taped up, but the post-woman was insistent she get to see it before it was sent out.  Well she ended up falling in love, and she bought the bag right then and there!  I love this story, now that is a first!  Thanks Jodi for being such great advertising!

I have one more story that is encouraging to hear.  This weekend at an art show I ran into a gal who ordered three cosmetic bags from her home in Colorado.  She stopped to say how pleased she was that the cosmetic bags came so quickly and were just made exactly like they were featured on the website.  Sometimes we can’t always duplicate the ribbon detail, but this time we could do it on all three, and she was so excited and pleased with her order.   So good to hear, and it reinforced we are always trying to please our customers!

This week I am ordering more fabric for some new colors and some more inspiration.    Can’t wait to see what they look like made up.  I spoke with my very talented website designer and she said the new improved website will be here soon!  It is so cool, so very chic and updated.  Just seeing some sample pages,  gave me encouragement for new and bigger things to come!

On a family note, I just cut both my husband’s and son’s hair, and wow was it a hair cutting party!  Everyone got stickers- if they both behaved.  And no, I didn’t exactly cut Gus’ hair like a really good beautician would, but he still got a sticker and he doesn’t know any different!
