Getting Priorities in Order for the Summer
In just a couple short weeks is the Edina Art Fair, which is a show we’ve done for eight years now. This year, I decided to take a leap of faith … and not sign up for Edina.
Let me just say, we love this show and the people there! So, this was actually a really hard decision for me. We’ve always done OK, but it’s never been one of our best shows, so I had to decide if it was really worth the time and effort.
I was about to sign up for it this winter, and then I saw in my notes, handwritten by yours truly, “Bekah, do not apply for this show!” It’s always hard for me to resist because the Edina Art Fair is a highly juried show, which makes it extra exciting to get in. However, that doesn’t mean it would be the right decision.
As you know, prioritizing family is foundational for Rebekah Scott Designs. And I am always trying to evaluate my priorities, so eliminating this show from our already busy summer schedule and free up a weekend seemed the right choice.
And, to make sure this was actually a family-focused decision, the Scotts have planned a vacation in its place! In June we’ll be going up to see close relatives, and we can’t wait. I’m sure you’ll see some pictures on Facebook of cousins playing!
And like I said, even though we aren’t headed to Edina this year, you’ll still have plenty of opportunities to see us this summer! Here is a list of our upcoming shows:
July 14-16: Downtown Street Fair
July 30: Mart in the Park
Madison, SD | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
