I love my staff! (Plus a Recap from Snowflakes and Stitches)

RSDHolidayShow2015Earlier this month I hosted my annual Rebekah Scott Designs staff party. What a blessing to see so many of my employees in one room!

It’s a blessing, and it’s also humbling. As we sat eating delicious meatballs and candy-coated shrimp, I looked around the table and thought, “I can’t believe each of these women believes in me and my dream.”

My connection to each woman varies — some are family, some are friends, and some have become friends after IMG_6074working together. It was so fun to talk over dinner and get to know one another better on a personal level. I asked my seamstresses what they like to do while they sew (because everyone has a thing!) For me, it’s late-night Seinfeld episodes. :)

It was also fun to spoil these women who really spoil me all year long! Each year I send them home with a gift, and this year’s was a cute, handmade scrunchie scarf. I gotta have my women stylish! :)

We had our staff party right after my holiday show, Snowflakes and Stitches. Anita, one of my IMG_6072seamstresses, said she enjoyed seeing me selling my product, rather than just sewing. She normally only sees the production end of the process, so I enjoyed having her there to meet some customers and see how I interact with them.

Snowflakes and Stitches was a hit! But as expected, it was also a learning year. I think it will definitely be an annual thing, but instead of two nights, we’ll combine it into one. It was a great opportunity to interact with customers in person, and the giveaway drawing was a blast! If you didn’t hear, Jill Viedt from Sioux Falls, SD was our winner, and I’m looking forward to updating you all about her selections throughout the year.

The Bakery in Sioux Falls was our venue, and it was fabulous. I definitely foresee us hosting other events there in the future.

Merry Christmas!!
