Backpacks are trending — for good reason! Whether you are a mom of toddlers, a student, or just a woman on the go who likes to be hands-free, this new Rebekah Scott bag is for you.

Without further ado, meet AmberAmber is a medium sized bag that can be made either as a backpack or a crossbody. Your choice! Plus, it has  lots of pockets and a zipper closure, all to keep us more organized. (And I’m obsessed with zippers!) It has a flap and like Erin, a size similar to Lia, and the backpack straps were inspired by my pastor’s backpack from a mission trip to Ethiopia. Basically, I created it exactly how I would want it! I made four different samples to try out, and when my sister Sarah wore one to work and everyone wanted to place an order, I knew we nailed it.

Along with the backpack/crossbody choice, you can decide to add a back pocket when you’re designing — all up to you! I love throwing on a backpack when I’m running between work and practice, or if I’m out running errands and I want both hands free. Amber is the perfect size if you like to carry a book or Kindle, your wallet, plus a few fruit snacks to have on hand. :)

20190423_073034.jpgThis newest RSD bag is named after my good friend Amber who always helps me with shows, mommyhood and sanity. :) I got to know her through our kids’ sporting events, and outside of my family, she has just become the most supportive friend. She has stood by me at flooded art shows, and she always sends me sweet birthday gifts (we’re one day apart!).

I always joke that with art show life, we are just showered carnies. :) So keep reading to meet Amber, my dear friend and fellow showered carnie!

How do you know Rebekah?

Rebekah and I initially met when our boys were on the same baseball team. She also has family in my hometown, so I had already been introduced to RSD before I met her and we had some common connections right away. Throughout the baseball season our husbands and kids all got to know each other as well, and we quickly became friends.

Give us a brief bio of yourself.

My name is Amber Larsen. I live in Brandon, SD with my husband Jeff and our four boys, Tyten (18), Daxton (15), Straton (13) and Broden (4). I am currently a stay-at-home mom and I do my best to keep up with all the schedules and activities we have going on. When I can find time, I enjoy refinishing or upcycling furniture and sometimes designing and making my own. We also enjoy having friends and family over to play cards or board games while the kids all hang out together.

How many RSD purses do you own?

I would guess I have (or have had) about 18 bags along with many accessories. I have given several to family or friends when I am done with them since they last forever!

Do you have a favorite fabric?

It's hard to choose one favorite fabric. Every time I think I'm in love with a certain fabric, she introduces another great one! Right now I am carrying a Spearhead Laura, which I would say is my current favorite.

Do you own/have you seen the Amber bag yet? What do you like about it?

I do not own the Amber bag yet, but I will! I have seen it and I am in love with it! My favorite part about it is the tab front pockets! They add so much character to the bag.  I also love that it can be made as either a backpack or a crossbody. It's so versatile, and it's the perfect size bag to carry everything I need on a daily basis.

What is your favorite movie and ice cream flavor?

Favorite movie: The Proposal

Favorite ice cream: mint chocolate chip

Do you have a quote or motto you live by?

I just recently saw a quote that has become my new favorite: "My mission is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style" - Maya Angelou

Do you have a must-have item in your purse, and why?

The one item I never leave home without is my RSD cosmetic. I keep my chapstick, lens cleaner and other necessities in there and I know I will have them with me at all times.
