She has much more of a designer handbag look than my other bags, which are super cute, but very practical. Ivy still can carry a lot —
even a few diapers for you mommies. But this purse achieves the handbag style you might want for a date night or an outing with friends.
It took me four or five prototypes to get what I wanted, as I’m only a self-trained designer who doesn’t follow any patterns. My mom is my best objective critic, so we each carried an Ivy for three months to make sure we were both satisfied. And now, I couldn’t be happier! Many customers said they wanted more zipper options, so we did that, and we added more hardware with a few chains to add to the designer look.
Ivy is of course named after my oldest daughter, who is very classy. She is always thoughtful, discerning, and fashionable. So this handbag fits her personality perfectly!
We introduced Ivy a couple weeks ago in our first-ever Facebook live event. This was exciting because we were able to showcase the purse and interact with customers at the same time. It felt like a trunk show, but I didn’t have to travel anywhere!
I was super nervous because there aren’t a lot of businesses who have done this yet, but it went really well. I can’t wait to do it with The Encourager, especially because I tend to do better live!
You can check out the recording here to see more of Ivy, and I hope you fall in love with her like I have!
