People Behind RSD: Nikki Dunbar
I’m excited for you to meet Nikki, our newest staff member at Rebekah Scott Designs!
We welcomed Nikki to our team by the end of December to be our Business Development Director. We were seeking someone with a strong grasp of social media who could help move us to the national level. She fit the qualifications, plus she was already a super fan in our VIP group! She also has a similar vision for her family, so it really just seemed like a no-brainer.
I’m eager to tell you more about our expanding vision for RSD, but for now, keep reading to get to know Nikki!
What is your role at Rebekah Scott Designs?
I am the Business Development Director, so I run the RSD social media accounts and work directly with our awesome customers to help them find the perfect bag to keep them organized and confident! I also work toward bringing our products nationwide so you can shop RSD at your favorite local shops!
How long have you worked for RSD?
The lovely ladies have just welcomed me to the team this year, so since January 2019.
Tell us a little about your family.
My husband, Ben, and I are coming up on our 5-year wedding anniversary this year, and we have two kittens (no kids, yet!). We are high school sweethearts, and are so lucky to have all of our immediate family still living in our hometown — definitely makes for fun, packed trips when we visit! We live in the Boise, ID area and enjoy exploring a little bit more each year!
Where is your hometown?
Newberg, Oregon is my hometown and where I met my husband! It’s a small town in beautiful wine country, smack dab between Portland and the capital, Salem.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love to grab a cup of black coffee and read (nonfiction), whether that’s a book, an online course, or an article. During the winter, I’m usually playing board games, watching movies, and playing Nintendo games with family. In the summer I love to get outside and go kayaking!
Do you have a favorite RSD purse? What do you like about it?
I just got a new one, so it will have to be a tie. ;) My Moxie Phoebe holds a special place as my first RSD purse, and I love the size! It was perfect to take to work, and I love love love the fabric! My new daily purse is an Intersection Jill with a top zip and concealed pocket. LOVING it!! Perfect size for my day-to-day when I don’t need to take a laptop and lunch with me.
Do you have a favorite RSD fabric?
We’re curious about a few of your “favorites:” favorite book, favorite restaurant, favorite place you’ve traveled?
Hard to pick a favorite book, but I love Lysa TerKeurst's writing. My favorite restaurant would be any authentic Mexican food, or Cafe Zupas for something more casual and lighter. I am blessed to have visited many states in the US as well as a number of places internationally, so it’s hard to choose a favorite! Traveling to Italy was beautiful and amazing, but I also cherish the time I spent in Costa Rica learning, growing, and hanging out at a different beach or waterfall almost every weekend. Ultimately though, I am a bit of a home body and love being home with my husband!
Is there a specific reason you wanted to work for RSD?
I’ve been following RSD online for a couple years now, and I cannot get enough of Bekah’s enthusiasm and creativity. It is contagious! I absolutely love the mission of the company, and the values that allow team members to work from home while raising a family completely spoke to my heart! Being a part of a company that has been entrusted to God by the owner, and getting to help other women realize their creativity and help them be inspired is so rewarding!
