People Behind the Purse: Angie and Jovie + New Limited Collection
Our Tiny Coworker #9 has arrived! Angie, my executive assistant, had her newest baby girl in February, and she is the cutest thing — with the cutest name. Zephy Mae was named from the Bible verse Zephaniah 3:17, and her name means "the Lord has protected, treasured by God.”
To celebrate Zephy, we are doing a limited Zephy Mae in one of our most popular styles, the Amber! Amber is a perfect medium-large style purse, and this limited collection is very boho chic with a pretty blue-toned floral fabric. It is available April 26-May 2, or while supplies last — so don’t wait! With everything going on, I think there are still reasons for joy and celebration, and Zephy Mae is certainly one of them!
And while we’re celebrating Zephy, I’d love for you to get to know Angie and her other daughter, Jovie, a bit better! We have two styles named for them, a laptop bag and sleeve. It’s such an adorable pair, just like the mother and daughter! :)
And before I get to their interview, allow me to take the opportunity to share how thankful I am for them. Angie has been a huge blessing to my business, but over the years she has become a close friend. She handles a million tasks, and somehow she always has a cheerful spirit. Jovie follows in her mommy’s footsteps — my kids light up every time she comes over! She is not reserved or shy, and she’s already the kind of person you want to get to know and love.
I’m so grateful for the Sattler family!
1. How do you know Rebekah?
Angie: As a customer, I used to "stalk" her at art shows (HAHA!) and now I get to be her assistant!
Jovie: My mom works for her and we get to play at her house!
2. Give us a brief bio of yourself.
A: I’m from Parker, SD and married my high school sweetheart, Chris. We have two beautiful daughters: Jovie (4) and Zephy (2 months). I love organizing things and checking things off the constant lists I make!
J: I live with my mom, dad and baby sister. I love doing "homework" with my notebooks and markers, painting, laughing and riding my bike and scooter outside.
3. How many RSD purses do you own?
A: I own several: Phoebe, Amber, Lia, Philip, Rozzi, Elizabeth and Olive. Plus I have lots of accessories to help keep me organized!
J: None yet but my mom has lots!
4. Do you have a favorite fabric?
A: Petal is my favorite lining fabric! I love pairing it with a more neutral outside fabric (like Intersection or Charcoal Waxed Canvas) and a hot pink or aqua zipper! Then I do contrasting accessories (like a Goldenrod key fob and Citrus cosmetic) so they're easy to see.
J: Anything pink... pink is my favorite color.
5. Do you own an Angie/Jovie bag yet? What do you like about it?
A: Yes! I love all the amazing storage options that keep me organized and that there's a padded sleeve to keep my laptop safe.
J: My mom has one. I like that it has my name!
6. We're curious about a few of your favorites: favorite movie? favorite book? favorite ice cream?
Favorite movie: The Goonies
Favorite book: The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich
Favorite ice cream: Double Caramel Magnum Bars or Snickers Ice Cream Bars
Favorite movie: Despicable Me
Favorite book: The Good Egg by Jory John and Pete Oswald
Favorite ice cream: Strawberry soft serve (from B&G Milky Way)
7. Do you have a quote or motto you live by?
A: ”Love God. Love people. The end." (I think Jen Hatmaker said this, but it's from Mark 12:30-31)
J: Life should be fun and you should laugh a lot!
8. Do you have a must-have item in your purse?
A: Chapstick and snacks!
J: Snacks and water, in case I get hungry. Plus a notebook and pen for drawing.
